22-2258 New Genres


This course provides students with opportunities to explore inter- and mult-disciplinary art forms in both a studio and discussion context. Students create performance, installation, and site-specific works dealing with issues of time and space in non-traditional ways. Video, sound, performance, site-specific installation, photography, non-material approaches, and other contemporary means of communication are possible media.

PREREQUISITES: 22-1210 Drawing for Non-Majors  and 22-1220 2-D Design for Non-Majors  and 22-1230 3-D Design for Non-Majors  or 22-1920 Making 2  or 22-1925 Making for Transfers  or 23-1112 Foundations of Photography II
