POLS 214 Modern Germany and the European Union Course provides students with a focus on the growth of post-World-War II German political institutions and society. The split and reunification of the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic, the role of Germany in the European Union, and European Union governmental institutions will be studied in light of historical and current events, drawing on sources from political science, social science, history, literature, and film.
