BIOL 230 Molecular and Cell Biology All living organisms are made of cells, some are unicellular and some are complex. This course provides students with an introduction to cell biology. Several areas of cell biology will be discussed: DNA, RNA, protein, transcription and translation, cell division and cell death, cell signaling and communication, cell renewal, and stem cells and cancer. The laboratory portion of the course will teach students the molecular biology techniques currently used in biology research, including gel electrophoresis, PCR, molecular cloning, ELISA, and Western Blot.
