EASC 140H Paleontology Field Observation & Methods: Honors This course provides a hands-on introduction to paleontology field methods, including fossil reconnaissance, identification, and collection during a two-week field expedition to the Petrified Forest National Park, Arizona. You will learn about the paleontology and geology of the park by reading and interpreting popular and scientific literature. Emphasis will be placed on detailed observation and documentation of vertebrate fossils and geologic context in a field notebook that will provide the basis for a final project interpreting your field experience.
