HIST 241 History of Mexico and Central America Students gain a better understanding of Mexico and the nations of Central America through an examination of key historical events. Course focuses on Spanish invasion and conquest, struggles to gain independence from Spain, United States’ conquest of the Mexican Northwest, the Mexican Revolution, United States’ interventions past and present, the Sandinista Revolution, El Salvador’s civil war, and the struggles of indigenous peoples past and present.
