This course focuses on the skills necessary to engage in DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) in collaborative artistic practice. Anti-racism, anti-bias, and cultural competency are areas in which creatives require training and practice, especially as the arts expand to become more diverse and inclusive (including artists and audiences) Students in this class will learn about the theories, methodologies, and practices of anti-racist, anti-bias, and culturally competent arts workers, as well as enhance their communication skills in cross-cultural and diverse settings to support productive collaboration.  The course is designed to provide practical skills and insights that can be applied in a range of collaborative work, including but not limited to theatre, cinema, design, dance, music, fashion, media, arts management, and digital arts environments. The primary objective of this course is to empower emerging creative professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to uphold ethical professional standards, model equitable and inclusive practices, and establish themselves as leaders within their industry.
