TELE 430 Writing Sketch Comedy for Television This advanced course is designed to teach the skills needed to write proficiently within the popular television genre of sketch comedy. Students will develop, pitch and write original sketches and commercial parodies. The sketch ideas will be pitched, improvised, drafted, read, reviewed, and revised step by step, in a classic writer’s table story conference procedure before moving on to the rehearsal and production process. Students will collaborate closely with the students and instructors of the Production, Editing and Producing courses. The end product of this collaboration, an original set of sketches.
