PHOT 101 Photographic Practice I This course introduces students to basic visual grammar of photographic seeing to explore and pursue diverse interests in photography while learning to become an acute observer. Using slr, mirrorless and cell phone cameras, students will learn the craft of making photographs using manual camera controls while also being introduced to issues of aesthetic form, historical context, and diverse photographic practices. Students will question, explore, communicate and evaluate using basic photographic concepts and critical-thinking skills while acquiring new sets of technical, conceptual, and formal language that are applicable to many disciplines.
