CRWR 340 The Working Writer


Imagine yourself as someone running a business-and this business is your writing, editing, and publishing career. This course will help you develop a deeper understanding of the entrepreneurial, organizational, and professional skills necessary to nurture the long run of your writing career beyond graduation. Building on the professional writing skills you develop in Writing for the Creative Workplace, this course helps you create strategies for collaborative communication with publishers, editors, and other writers, and helps you develop strategies for communicating professionally in the literary community and in the workplace. With its focus on strengthening your marketability as a writer, this course gives you the opportunity to: 1) explore writing-related workplace skills that will broaden your range of employment options throughout your career, and 2) create strategies for adapting your current skills to changing workplace environments after you graduate.
