43-1110 Introduction to Audio Theory This course introduces students to the language and theories common to all fields in which audio is used. Classes are in a lecture/demonstration format and make use of a wide assortment of audio synthesis, processing and analysis tools to illustrate different topics and concepts. Topics include an introduction to sound and hearing, analog and digital audio signals, and audio systems theory. This course is supported by Supplemental Instruction Peer Study Groups. 3 Credits Requisites COREQUISITES: 56-1720 College Mathematics or 56-1723 Liberal Arts Mathematics or SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) score >= 650 or COMPASS Placement Test score >= 80 or ACT (American College Test) score >= 27 or 56-1728 Quantitative Reasoning
