56-1833 Space Exploration The course examines the space race from Sputnik to the moon, the international space station and the use of space probes in the exploration of our solar system. It covers the basic science and technology involved in the space program, as well as the many different dangers, the benefits, costs, and the political and human drama associated with it. Discussion topics include rocketry, space suits, moon colonies, the search for extraterrestrial life, space telescopes, black holes and the birth and death of stars.
