66-2100 Papermaking This class will qualify undergraduate students in the basic techniques, materials, processes, and concepts used in the Papermaking Studio. Technique will be taught as a method of investigation, a material exploration of ideas. Projects will focus on using papermaking as an image making tool and sculptural material. Projects engaging micro-industry, environmental, and community-building models will also be considered. Students will gain skills in beating a variety of fibers, sheet forming, watermarking, pulp painting, and high-shrinkage techniques.
