66-6302 Visual Narratives Narrative is arguably the major artistic form of our culture. This course examines the history, theory, structure, and aesthetics of narrative. Emphasizing visual narratives - paintings, photographs, films, graphic novels, books, new media - the course explores the idea of narration and story, and the ways in which it both ‘means’and functions. The goal of this course is to enable you to think about story in ways beyond what you currently do in your art practice.
