32-2522 Styles & Methods for Contemporary Singers This course for the intermediate contemporary singer focuses on how to communicate and conduct rehearsals in a variety of musical styles. Topics include lyric analysis and interpretation, stage presence, microphone technique, basic arranging, beginning improvisation techniques, and communicating with the audience. Emphasis is on communication skills, effective rehearsal procedures, and the independent and collective roles of each member of a rhythm section - a combination of elements expected to increase the singer’s aptitude for participation in instrumental ensembles.
