Entrepreneurship and Innovation Minor

The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Minor equips students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to create, innovate, and participate in creative ventures. The program explores the innovation process, design thinking, and idea generation. Students also select additional business courses focused on financial, legal, marketing, leadership, and other skills through the lens of the creative industries. Students leverage these business and innovation skills to test and plan new ventures as viable professional opportunities. This minor requires 18 credits for completion.
Upon successful completion of program requirements, students should be able to:
- demonstrate innovation abilities by generating new ideas, opportunities, products, and processes that drive economic and social change with a global perspective and impact;
- apply an entrepreneurial mindset by thinking creatively, taking calculated risks, and adapting to changing business environments;
- recognize the importance of core business skills in new business creation, including financial, legal, and marketing;
- implement strategies that effectively address real-world challenges with leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills; and
- execute business planning and development concepts to build a viable new business framework.
