The minor in Fiction Writing is designed to allow students to combine their major fields of study with a sequence of fiction writing and elective writing courses that will improve reading, writing, storytelling, listening, speaking, and creative problem-solving skills. The minor in Fiction Writing is of interest to students who realize the great importance of writing and story in all arts and media disciplines, as well as most careers. Fiction Writing II carries a writing-intensive designation that fulfills this Columbia graduation requirement.
