70-6126 Family Counseling Students will survey various frameworks in couples and family counseling focusing on facilitating change in dysfunctional relationship patterns. Principles in Imago Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Communication Analysis will be explored. Emphasis will also be placed on at risk families that face challenging issues such as neglect, physical abuse, trauma, sexual abuse, acculturation, discrimination, and racism. Effective treatment will draw upon different family systems approaches and incorporate them into treatment planning.
3 Credits Requisites PREREQUISITES: 70-6110 Dance Mvt Therapy Theory I and 70-6115 Dance/Movement Therapy II and 70-6210 Human Development and 70-6215 Psychopathology
