Symposium-style course deals with major scientific and medical issues of public concern. Students consider how media interpret scientific information and make it relevant to lay audiences. Issues covered might include destruction to the environment, morality of euthanasia, funding of manned space travel, or nuclear policy in the post-Cold War era.
