Developmental exercises will condition the body and refine the ear for the polycentric and polyrhythmic requirements of the forms. Students will learn rhythms (steps) that integrate polycentric somatic forms in space with polyrhythmic patterns in time and emphasize grounded stance and appropriate use of alignment.
Repeatable PREREQUISITES: 33-2031 West African Dance Technique II or 33-2032 West African Dance Technique II (F) Requirements Department Permission
