DANC 106 Modern IB In this course, students build upon the skills acquired in Modern Technique IA and explore further the fundamental principles, practices and vocabulary common to modern dance through a daily practice of warm-up exercises and movement combinations. Classes consist of a series of technical exercises that condition the body for strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination; students begin to develop a physical and conceptual awareness of the elements of space, time, and energy; and promote performance skills of concentration, focus, and musicality. Live musicians accompany all dance major technique classes.
