PHYS 225 Physics for Filmmakers This class deals with scientific principles that can help students be more accurate in their filmmaking. Emphasis is placed on motion, collisions, explosions, forces and energy. Other topics may include optics, electrical, magnetic and atomic phenomena as well as special and general relativity. All these are discussed within the context of their use in cinema through analysis of selected film clips. The class includes relevant experiments that students have to perform and/or film. Students complete a short, creative film project on some of the physics they learn.
