BIOL 225 Microbiology The course examines life at the microscopic level and is designed to provide an understanding of microbiology and its connectedness to the human body, environment, medicine, and industry. Topics will include the exploration of the world of bacteria and viruses; microbial growth and control; the impact of the human microbiome; the role of microbes in biotechnology, industry, and agriculture; the rise of antibiotic resistance; and microbial diseases of humans.
