ARTS 105 3D: Objects + Space

3D: Objects + Space introduces students to spatial literacy through hands-on exploration of three-dimensional forms and fabrication techniques. Students learn core concepts of form, volume, scale, and balance as they work with a variety of materials and are guided in the safe use of essential hand and power tools. Emphasizing both traditional sculptural methods and contemporary multimedia practices, this course encourages students to explore how objects occupy, transform, and interact with space. Students gain an understanding of the structural, compositional, and conceptual roles of three-dimensional art. Through lectures, critiques, and hands-on projects, the course encourages critical thinking and effective communication, equipping students with a foundational language for future studies in the visual arts.
