COMM 520 Media Ecosystems In this course, graduate students analyze the civic impact and the reciprocal relationships between a media outlet and a local community. By applying media theories of public sphere, media ecology, and audience studies, students conduct a social power analysis to explore the information flow, power relationships, and impact of all participants in the media ecosystem. At the end of the course, students will deliver a professional report and media portfolio to their media partner.
