CRWR 310 Experimentation Workshop
In this creative writing course, we will experiment with many practices, techniques and forms to create poetry and other texts, such as: lyric prose, experimental fiction and nonfiction, hybrid writing, multi-media and/or performance pieces. Using literary models and other models as a means of exploring strategies and subject matter, we will encounter a wide range of texts and transdisciplinary possibilities; experiments with sound, music, film, animation and other art practices are welcome. A mainstay of this workshop is the use of in-class prompts that may lead to further development, collaborations, and/or productions. Throughout, you’ll be developing a practice of experimentation as we make and revise poems and other texts in a supportive, community-building environment. A further aim of this course is to equip you to engage with local communities of creative writers and/or practitioners across disciplines.
