ANIM 355 Computer Animation: CG Rigging


Course introduces students to the fundamental principles of rigging in computer graphics. Focusing on the creation and implementation of rigs for animation, students will learn how to build skeletons, control systems, and deformation techniques in CG software.

 
The curriculum covers key concepts including joint placement, skinning methods, and the creation of user-friendly control interfaces. Through hands-on projects, students will develop practical skills in rigging both organic and mechanical assets, gaining insight into the technical aspects that enable fluid animation.
 
Emphasis will be placed on best practices and problem-solving strategies within the rigging process, preparing students for real-world applications in animation, game design, and visual effects. By the end of the course, students will have an understanding of CG rigging fundamentals and the ability to create functional rigs for various animated projects.
