ARTS 203 Visual Arts Practices

Visual Arts Practices is an essential course for all second-year students in the School of Visual Arts. Coursework is dedicated to building the foundational skills necessary for any successful, professional studio practice in a variety of art industries. Students develop a professional portfolio, explore relevant career opportunities, create effective social media strategies, and learn the basic business concepts vital to running a studio. An integrated lecture series features fine artists, photographers, illustrators, (curators, gallerists and non-profit arts professionals) sharing their professional experiences and exploring current cultural issues. Students engage with these professionals while gaining valuable insights into different creative careers and strengthening their ability to articulate their own artistic practice.
