31-3305 Singing for the Actor I Course focuses on proper techniques for breathing, projection, voice placement, and articulation taught through singing. Instruction emphasizes text interpretation and characterization in song. This is not a class that teaches the actor to be a singer, but a class that teaches singing technique to broaden the actor’s spoken vocal range. Course instruction makes actors more comfortable with singing as part of their acting equipment. Students give public performance at semester end. Course is required for all students with an Acting concentration.
