33-2382 Dancemaking II Course is a practical exploration of a variety of processes and elements that may be used in making dances. Students will create their own dance studies in response to a variety of assigned choreographic exercises. Topics will include elements such as space, time, shape, and dynamics, and processes such as abstraction, thematic development, and revision. Improvisation will be employed to initiate exploration of concepts but ultimately work will be set into fixed, repeatable form. Students will engage in critiques of their own and others’ work and are expected to work rigorously and imaginatively to expand in new directions.
