55-5221 CRW: Crime and Story


Dickens, Atwood, and Wright are among many writers who use elements of the mystery and crime story to explore the psychological effects of crime in fiction. By analyzing the writing techniques and processes of established writers, students examine how crime and mystery have been transformed beyong genre to create dramatic literary fiction. By reading published public work, as well as private journals and letters of established writers, students will explore how they may use these techniques to create compelling fiction.
