50-2101 Ethnographic Films Customs and cultures from around the world are explored through films on societies and their cultures made by anthropologists and filmmakers. Course will investigate the history and purposes of ethnographic films, and will address questions of ethics, politics, finances, and techniques as they impact creation of these visual representations. Different approaches and problems faced by filmmakers and anthropologists in documenting and describing social groups and their cultures will be studied.
