52-2809 Introduction to Writing Satire and Parody This course presents an in-depth analysis of twentieth-century satire and parody from several disciplines, including works written for film, television, print media, and fiction. Students write short comedic pieces that exemplify the various types of satire and parody covered in the course. Over the first eight weeks, students deconstruct many different genres to create original works that celebrate these source materials. The last seven weeks of the course revolve around the creation of a full-length script for an original parody of satire.
