21-1042 Jewelry and Objects I In this course, students are encouraged to create jewelry, objects and/or sculpture. Through a variety of class exercises, students are introduced to basic technical skills including fabrication, soldering, stone-setting, coloring, finishing and cold joining. Design planning is emphasized through critiques and class discussions, where the relationship between skilled craftsmanship, aesthetics and design concept is explored. This course is appropriate for students from all majors.
