The M.A. in Beauty Management at Columbia College Chicago prepares working professionals for corporate and entrepreneurial careers in the global beauty and personal care industries. The degree emphasizes beauty for diversity and sustainability first and foremost, and includes two 9-credit certificates in “Diverse Beauty” and “Sustainable Beauty” that can be pursued separately or combined into the full 30-credit master's degree. The degree is designed to be pursued primarily online with one mandatory non-western global residency. Courses are intensive studies on a seven-week cadence and include both synchronous and asynchronous web experiences. The degree can be completed in one academic year for full-time students, or at the student's own pace for part-time students. Certificates can be completed within six months or more slowly, according to the student's preference.

- conduct qualitative and quantitative market research to understand diverse beauty and wellness consumers' needs, stories, and pain points in their own words and from their own perspectives;
- understand major cultural influences on beauty practices from around the globe to expand addressable markets, discover beauty and wellness innovations embedded in diverse histories and practices, and communicate effectively in a variety of western and non-western markets; and
- understand richly embodied ways of thinking about and practicing beauty/wellness that are mediated through the skin and touch (vs. conventional eye- and vision-mediated senses);
- study models for the sustainability and business feasibility of local sourcing in a contemporary global context;
- deploy emerging technologies to develop diversity- and sustainability-conscious products;
- evaluate the wellness impact of the metaverse on human experiences and relationships and develop metaverse best-practices from a wellness perspective;
