THEA 125 Comedy Survey II


This course builds on concepts introduced in Comedy Survey I. Students will investigate the role of comedy in society and the question of who is being laughed at and why through a series of readings, screenings, lectures, and discussions. They will engage with initial questions of comedy ethics in the areas of taboo, risk, stereotype and archetype. Students will gather material for comedic opinion and satire from a variety of news and information sources and formats.
