ARTS 466 Professional Practices This senior-level Professional Practices course prepares Photography, Illustration, and Fine Arts students for successful entry into creative industries. Students will build a professional portfolio, develop promotional materials, and learn the intricacies of career planning, budgeting, and proposal writing. Through lectures, workshops, and projects, the course covers essential skills such as navigating exhibition and commercial spaces, residencies, grants, small bussiness planning and budgeting, basic shop management, and advanced education/professional opportunities. Emphasis is placed on industry best practices, including representation, networking, contracts and pricing, and equipping students for professional success and effective self-representation.
