33-3473 Kinesiology This course, a continuation of study begun in Experiential Anatomy, looks at the scientific principles underlying the complexities of movement specific to dance. Content covers the muscular and neuromuscular systems, the physiological support systems, the prevention and care of injuries, development of conditioning programs, analysis of dance movements, and awareness of common anatomical and muscular imbalances found in dancers. Through lecture and movement workshops students learn to apply this information to their own training and to the principles of teaching.
