41-3121 Radio Station Management This course provides a foundation for media management issues facing radio managers in the daily operations of programming, sales promotion, news and engineering departments. Students will examine theories of broadcast crisis management, the Telecommunications Act; labor and discrimination law; FCC rules; and contract and employment law. Through case studies, class discussions and informational interviews with local radio station managers, students will learn the structure of broadcast management plus how to conduct performance evaluations and legally interview and terminate employees.
3 Credits Requisites PREREQUISITES: 41-3114 Radio Programming and 52-1151 Writing and Rhetoric I or SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) score >= 710 or ACT (American College Test) score >= 30
