38-6162 Methods and Materials for Teaching Students with Disabilities The purpose of this course is to identify appropriate methods and materials for use in teaching students with disabilities. General theories of learning will be reviewed. Best practice teaching methods, materials and intervention strategies will be the focus of this course. Textual materials as well as audio-visual technology will be examined. Candidates will use state learning standards to develop and modify lesson plans and curriculum in content areas. Organization of elementary, [secondary], and community programs for students with disabilities will be discussed.
