43-3330 Engineered Acoustics Course investigates acoustical issues pertaining to engineered systems in a wide range of environmental settings. Topics covered include heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) noise issues and design; noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) assessment; fundamentals of active noise control; and a primer on sound quality. A substantial amount of the course is dedicated to modeling various physical systems with computer tools in order to assess their behavior relating to noise or vibration excitation.
