                  50-2315 Comparative Politics of Ethnic Minorities  Issues of ethnic minorities are crucially important for democratization and for political stability of the countries. Drawing on the examples from the US and worldwide, this course discusses how states deal with ethnic diversity, evaluates different ways to protect minority rights, and debates territorial versus non-territorial solutions to the demands of the minorities, assimilatory versus multicultural policies towards minorities, ways of defining and realizing minority rights, and the role of international organizations in ensuring global minority rights.
