56-3270 Organic Chemistry Organic chemistry is the study of carbon-containing compounds and their derivatives. Organic chemistry is laboratory course which focuses on bonding principles, functional groups, isomerism, stereochemistry, nomenclature, synthesis and reactions of hydrocarbons and their derivatives. Laboratory activities include micro-scale techniques, basic separations, purifications, syntheses, as well as infrared spectroscopy and instrumental analysis.
