38-1101 Children’s Literature Students will explore various books/stories for infants/toddlers, preschool, and early elementary aged children. This course will investigate quality board and picture books, as well as beginning reading books while considering nursery rhymes, fiction and non-fiction, fairytales, and folktales. Students will better understand quality elements of books/stories, respected authors, and developmentally and culturally appropriate books/stories. Ultimately students will become more competent with selecting, evaluating, and presenting children’s books/stories while learning to instill a love of reading with children.
