38-1530J Brain Basics: Health & Development in Young Children Course uses the emerging brain development research as the organizing principle for an exploration of the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth of children from birth to age eight. Topics of exploration include pre- and post-natal development, sensory processing, nutrition, stress, disease and disorders, and developmental milestones. Emphasis is placed on the physical and cognitive realms of development. Course was designed to provide students with the scientific information that will support their interactions with young children.
