55-5413J Writing Abroad Dislocation from the familiar has for centuries played upon the imaginative processes of writers. This J-Session course offers an immersion in the literature, art, history, and culture of another city or country. Students read fiction and nonfiction by noted local authors; visit major sites associated with local authors; write journal entries and reading responses; and intensively explore new fictional and creative nonfiction possibilities, as well as having the option of continuing to develop strong writing material from previous classes.
