56-2611HN Space, Time and the Arts The objective of this seminar is to develop a common language that can interface art and science. The science of space and time will provide the window through which we will analyze the arts. The course will focus on a couple of works from each discipline (Dance, Music, and Film and Video) that illustrate an extraordinary use by an artist of either space or time. Through studying the artwork, students will gain an appreciation not only of the imaginative and compositional expression of space or time in each art form, but also a sense of the connections between the art disciplines. This is an Honors class. In addition to other possible pre-requisites, students need a minimum G.P.A. of 3.50 or higher to enroll.
