HIST 227 The Israeli/Palestinian Conflict This course examines the Israeli/Palestinian conflict from the founding of Zionism in Europe in the 19th century and the rise of Arab Nationalism, to the ensuing conflict between Israel, the Palestinians, and other Arab states in the region. Events will be examined through the framework of other regional players: Former colonial powers, the former Soviet Union, and the United States. Proposals to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, e.g., the Two State Solution, One State Solution will be examined.
